Fishing Information

The Pine River is a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream with strains of native Brown Trout. It is a pristine and natural river, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing day of fishing.

We have our own river access, ponds for practice, and are close to many other great fishing spots along the river. We are also only ten minutes away from Tippy Dam in Wellston, which offers some great fishing...salmon, steelhead and much more!!  Boat Rentals are available at Tippy Dam.

Cadillac, which is only 25 minutes east of Coolwater Camp, offers 2 great fishing lakes...Lake Cadillac and Lake Mitchell, both of which are popular fishing destinations. Charter boats, pontoon boats, jet skis are available for rent.

Lake Michigan is only 30 minutes west of Coolwater Campground and offers nice beaches and some great Fishing.  There are many fishing charters in Manistee and we are happy to help you plan a grat fishing outing!

Hunting Information

We are surrounded by the Manistee National Forest providing us with thousands of acres of federal land to experience hunting in Northern Michigan.  The area has a very healthy Deer and Turkey population, with many local business’s that cater to hunters.  From meat processing to the Big Buck contest in Wellston, there are plenty of reasons to come to Coolwater and make it your Base Camp for a great hunting season!!!
