Welcome to Coolwater Campground
Coolwater Campground is surrounded by the beautiful Manistee National Forest. We are located on the Scenic Pine River, one of the Michigans’ premier canoe rivers and a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream. We have a beautiful river landing for overnight canoe trips, and it also makes a great fishing spot!
Located in the heart of Northern Michigan outdoor activities! We are centrally located 20 minutes from Cadillac, 45 minutes from Traverse City, and only 30 minutes from Lake Michigan. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of National Forest, packed with great opportunities for Hunting, Fishing, Morel Mushrooms, Hiking & Biking, and relaxing. We welcome Off Road Vehicles, and you can ride from the campground to Lincoln Hills ORV Trail System.

We will be open for Hunting Season!!! We will have our Shower Building open until 11/25/11 and will have water to fill up your RV when you arrive and electric sites are available! We still have a Pop-Up Camper, Travel Trailer, & Camping Cabins available for Rent during the opening week of Firearm Season.

Winter Camping is now Available. Winter season is November through the end of March and is only $500!! This includes an electrical site, water is available sometimes, and we can help you arrange for propane use from a local supplier. Just let us know when you are coming up and we can have your site plowed and can even turn your heater on for you! We have many great snowmobile trails in the area and you can snowmobile right from your site! Also, Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort is only 10 minutes away!!
It can be a great winter escape!!
Winter Storage is also available.
